Sheva Strike Seals Another Ireland Win

ROI made it back-to-back wins over Poland in World Cup qualifying, with Marissa Sheva's first-half goal enough to secure a narrow victory in Dublin.

The Republic of Ireland continued their positive run in World Cup qualifying with a 1-0 win over Poland at the Aviva Stadium.

The decisive moment came just before the break, when Marissa Sheva reacted quickest in the box to turn the ball home following a move involving Kyra Carusa. That goal ultimately proved enough in a tight contest. Defensively, Ireland held firm, with goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan called into action late on as Poland pushed for an equaslier.

The result strengthens Ireland's position in the group following their earlier win away to Poland, although they will be without O'Sullivan for the next fixture after she picked up a suspension.

Attention now turns to a summer meeting with the Netherlands, as Ireland look to build further momentum in their qualifying campaign.
