Defeat for Kildare lady footballers in Armagh yesterday in the All Ireland senior championship.
The concession of two goals in the first five minutes and missed chances costing Kildare despite being the better team on the day.
Final score: Armagh 3-9 Kildare 1-12.
It was an emotional day for the team and manager Pat Sullivan whose father had died in the previous 24 hours.
Nevertheless, his mother insisted that his father would want him to be with the team, and he duly travelled.
Kildare camogie are into the All Ireland Premier Junior Championship semi final.
Yesterday, they beat Tyrone in Dungannon by 2-10 to 1-12.
Kildare will play either Armagh, Cavan, or Donegal in the semi final in two weeks time.

The All-Ireland Minor Football Championship reaches its conclusion its afternoon, with Cork playing Tyrone in the All-Ireland final at 2.

The winners will progress to join Armagh, Kerry, and Dublin in the semi-finals.
In the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final, Clare play Limerick at 4.
And in Camogie, Clare play Tipperary in the Senior Championship Quarter-Finals from 1.30.
Soccer
In the World Cup, France booked their place in the quarter-finals with a hard-fought 1-nil win over Paraguay, while Morocco knocked out co-hosts Canada with an impressive 3-nil victory.
Tonight, five-time champions Brazil play Norway in New Jersey at 9.
Then overnight, England will play co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium at 1 o’clock in the morning.
Tomorrow, Portugal play Spain, while the United States will play Belgium for a place in the last eight.
Rugby
In Rugby, Ireland made a winning start to the inaugural Nations Championship with a dramatic 33-31 victory over Australia.
The Irish came from twelve points behind during the first half to beat the Wallabies.
Elsewhere New Zealand beat France 34-32, Japan overcame Italy 27-10, Wales defeated Fiji 39-24, South Africa were 45-21 winners over England, while Scotland claimed an impressive 47-38 victory away to Argentina.
After the opening round, Ireland sit third in the Northern Hemisphere table behind Wales and Scotland on points difference.
Golf
Finally, in golf, Anna Foster is 8 shots off the lead in the Women’s Open in Belgium.
The Dubliner slipped down the leaderboard after a two-over par 74 and is tied for third on two-under.
Meanwhile, Pádraig Harrington is just one shot off the lead in the final round of the U.S. Senior Open.
The two-time champion fired a four-under par 66 to move to eight-under overall, one behind American leader Stewart Cink.
