Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy have won Ireland's first ever Olympics rowing Gold.
The Taoiseach says Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy have made Ireland proud after winning the country's first ever rowing Gold at the Olympics.
The Skibbereen pair put in a stellar performance to beat Germany and Italy in the final of the men's lightweight double sculls in Tokyo.
It’s only the seventh time Ireland has secured gold at the Games.

President Michael D Higgins has paid tribute to Ireland's latest gold medal heroes.
He's described Paul O'Donovan and Fintan McCarthy victory as a "tremendous achievement, which gives great inspiration to young people."
