Thursday Morning: Naas Man Jamie Osborne Tipped To Be Included In The Ireland Squad For The Six Nations

Tonight, Manchester City host Tottenham.

Ross Byrne is expected to be one of four out-halves named by Ireland coach Andy Farrell for the Six Nations Championship when the squad is announced this morning.

Byrne's Leinster team-mate Naas' Jamie Osborne and Munster's Gavin Coombes are also hoping to be included.

 

SOCCER

Manchester United's run of nine wins in a row in all competitions is over.

Michael Olise scored an injury time free kick as Crystal Palace earned a 1-1 draw against United in the Premier League at Selhurst Park.

Casemiro received a yellow card which means he is suspended for Sunday's showdown at Arsenal.

A win will send City within 5 points of leaders Arsenal.

Shane Lowry and Seamus Power have both made excellent starts to the Abu Dhabu Championship on the DP World Tour.

The pair are both 5 under par - Lowry with one hole to play and Power with three holes to go.

The lead is shared on 7 under by Italian Guido Migliozzi and Australian Jason Scrivener.

Tom McKibbin is level par at the turn.

Padraig Harrington tees off just after 8am.


On the PGA Tour later, Masters winner Scottie Scheffler and Spain's Jon Rahm are in the field for the American Express tournament in California.

And Leona Maguire competes in the Tournament of Champions on the LPGA Tour in Florida.



TENNIS

It could be another late night in Melbourne at the Australian Open for Andy Murray.

After his five-set first round victory, he's in the last match on the Margaret Court Arena, taking on the Aussie, Thanasi Kokkinakis .

Nine time champion Novak Djokovic is also in second round action this morning as he goes up against French qualifier Enzo Couacaud.

Second seed Casper Ruud is out - he was beaten in four sets by Jenson Brooksby.

Women's second seed Ons Jabeur faces Marketa Vondrousova.
