Mack Hansen and James Ryan sit out Ireland training

Ireland and the UK have been confirmed as hosts of Euro 2028.

The announcement was made by UEFA in Switzerland earlier.

The Aviva Stadium in Dublin and a redeveloped Casement Park are in line to host matches.

The FAI also say that Irish football will benefit from 6-point-2 million euro in legacy funding.

Turkey and Italy have been chosen as hosts for the 2032 tournament.

The Republic of Ireland are training today, ahead of Friday's Euro 2024 qualifier against Greece in Dublin.

Stephen Kenny's side will then travel to Faro for a meeting with Gibraltar on Monday.

Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from football.

The former Chelsea winger left Real Madrid at the end of last season.

Hazard won two Premier League titles and scored 110 goals in 352 appearances during his time in London.

The 32-year-old called time on his international career with Belgium at the end of last year.

Mack Hansen and James Ryan didn't take to the field for Ireland training today.

Keith Earls, Robbie Henshaw and James Lowe were on the pitch, as Andy Farrell's side ramp up their preparations for Saturday's quarter-final with New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Wayne Barnes has been appointed as the referee for Ireland's World Cup quarter-final against New Zealand this weekend.

The English official was the man in the middle for Ireland's victory over the All Blacks in the third test last summer.

John Kiely is expected to be ratified for a further two years in charge of the Limerick hurlers tonight.

He'll attempt to lead the county to a fifth All-Ireland in a row next season.

Meanwhile, Derek Lyng will remain as Kilkenny manager after being endorsed by the Kilkenny county board last night.
