It comes as issues have been raised by local residents in terms of the bye-laws and parking in the area
Concerns have been raised in relation to Celbridge parking bye-laws as issues during evenings and weekends of illegal or hazardous parking have been repeatedly reported by residents, according to a local councillor.
The bye-laws are in effect between 10am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays, excluding bank holidays.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Social Democrats Councillor for Celbridge-Leixlip municipal district Claire O' Rourke said that she has requested a review of the parking bye-laws in the town:
"My request was to have a review of parking bye-laws, not just for this area, but for Celbridge, which the council said they will carry out, the question is really 'when?'."
She also asked for a detailed breakdown of the number and location of car parking spaces in the area, as she says a local homeowner had to pay for all day parking outside of their house.
The report from the council revealed that there were 143 designated on street pay and display parking spaces, 9 designated accessible parking spaces and 1 designated pay and display Age Friendly parking space.
They added that there are no “free” designated parking spaces as well as no off-street Kildare County Council designated parking spaces.
Cllr O' Rourke said that she would continue to follow up the issue further.
