His appointment follows the resignation of Cllr Mark Stafford in July.
Cllr Paddy Curran has been co-opted as a member of Kildare County Council for the Kildare Electoral Area representing Fine Gael.
His appointment was confirmed at a meeting of Kildare County Council today and follows the resignation of Cllr Mark Stafford in July when he was appointed as County Registrar for Co. Louth.
Speaking following the co-option today, Cllr Curran said: “I am delighted to be co-opted as a member of Kildare County Council to represent the people of the Kildare electoral area, and Kildare-Newbridge municipal district. I particularly look forward to engaging with and working on behalf of the many great community and voluntary groups across the district who make such an important contribution to our area."
Cllr Curran lives in Kildare town with his wife and works for the Irish Stable Staff Association.
