Maynooth businessman Paul Wright, accused of defrauding US investors of millions, has been criticised by a Florida firm for using an array of excuses to stall legal proceedings.
TMCT, the company suing Wright, alleges he has employed tactics such as faking a brain aneurysm, pretending to need hand surgery, claiming his best friend was having an affair with his wife, and even alleging a tax audit and frozen accounts - all to delay payments.
Wright, who denies the claims, has attempted to have the case dismissed on jurisdictional grounds.
