Anyone who breaches the incoming hosepipe ban could face fines of up to €5,000
A number of counties across Ireland are to be issued with hosepipe bans from tomorrow (Thursday 15th).
Uisce Éireann says the prolonged dry weather is seriously impacting water supplies.
Restrictions come into force on across Dublin, South Tipperary and parts of Kildare, Meath, Wicklow and Wexford, and last until August 26th.
The majority of Kildare will be under the ban, with an exception for an area of north west Kildare, as well as other border areas near Rathangan, Monasterevin, as well as near Dunlavin and Blessington on the Wicklow border.
It could be extended to other areas if the hot weather continues.
