Athy has the highest number of applicants with 797 people on the waiting list, followed by Castledermot with 111 and Nurney with 71.
A recent report presented at a council meeting has provided an update on the housing waiting lists across the Athy Municipal District.
The figures, compiled from the I-House reporting system, show the number of applicants waiting for accommodation in various towns and townlands within the district.
The I-House system reports on applicants' chosen areas rather than their current place of residence.
Although the system does not allow for grouping all areas within the Municipal District, a breakdown of waiting lists in larger towns and townlands was provided.
The housing waiting list figures are as follows:
- Athy: 797 applicants
- Ballitore: 75 applicants
- Ballyroe: 22 applicants
- Calverstown: 35 applicants
- Castledermot: 111 applicants

- Kilberry: 48 applicants
- Kilkea: 28 applicants
- Kilmead: 27 applicants
- Moone/Timolin: 42 applicants
- Narraghmore: 27 applicants
- Nurney: 71 applicants
Athy has the highest number of applicants with 797 people on the waiting list, followed by Castledermot with 111 and Nurney with 71.
