The route will provide peak-time and evening services as well as improved connectivity to regional bus and rail services in Kilcullen and Newbridge.
TFI Local Link Kildare South Dublin is set to launch improved bus services from Dunlavin and Kilcullen to Newbridge beginning May 7th, 2024.
The initiative, part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan funded by the National Transport Authority, will see Route 892, formerly route 129, extended to Dunlavin.
The enhanced route will provide eight daily return services on weekdays, with four extending to Dunlavin, and seven daily return services on Sundays, with three extending to Dunlavin.
The aim is to enhance connectivity to various villages and areas along the route.
Alan Kerry, General Manager of TFI Local Link Kildare South Dublin, highlighted the strategic design of the timetable to align with local train services, catering to both employment and educational needs.
The expansion aims to reduce car dependency and promote public transport usage in rural Kildare.
