A Maynooth University graduate has received an international accolade for his innovative design aimed at alleviating muscle loss in individuals wearing casts.
Andrew Meehan was awarded first place in the Designing Healthy Future category at the global Cumulus Green awards.
The Maynooth University graduate created "Curo," a retrofitted casting system featuring integrated electro-muscle stimulants that can potentially minimise muscle loss by up to 20%.
His design was selected from 89 submissions worldwide.
Mr. Meehan, currently pursuing a postgraduate degree, expressed his gratitude, stating he feels "honoured to be among the finalists, and even more so to have secured first place."
