New carbon budgets have been published.
A large home retrofitting programme needs to be a central part of meeting Ireland's climate targets, according to a Maynooth University expert.
New carbon budgets have been published aiming to reduce emissions by 4.8pc a year up to 2025, when the target will increase to 8.3pc a year.
Member of the Climate Change Advisory Council, Maynooth U. Professor Peter Thorne, says tackling household emissions will be key in reaching those targets:
