A motorist who already disqualified from driving was among a number of road users caught driving dangerously during a garda crackdown in Kildare.
According to the Irish Independent, gardaí detected a driver travelling at 111kmh in a 80kmh zone on the R402 in Carbury.
Upon further investigation, gardaí discovered that the driver was already serving a three-year driving ban for drink driving.
The driver was arrested at the scene and has since been charged by gardaí.
Separately, in a 60kmh zone in the county, a learner driver was caught speeding at 108kmh in a 60kmh zone, they also had no tax, NCT or insurance.
Elsewhere in the county, while operating a speed checkpoint at Clonuff in Broadford in north-west Kildare, the unit detected a car being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver at 97kmh in a 60kmh zone.
Meanwhile, on the R445 at Littleconnell near Newbridge, a driver was arrested for dangerous driving after they were caught travelling at 158kmh in a 80kmh zone - almost double the speed limit.
