It follows calls for better connectivity within the town
NTA have confirmed that the Newbridge Town Bus proposal is moving towards public consultation.
Social Democrats Councillor Chris Pender had also been calling for the service in recent years, with a a public
consultation expected to launch in the coming weeks.
Connections between residential areas, schools, healthcare facilities and shopping centres have been sought, as well as the need to connect the service with Newbridge Train Station.
The NTA also confirmed that the proposal considers connections to and from Athgarvan.
John Nott, Head of Transport Services Planning, confirmed that the NTA is proposing a new town bus service for Newbridge and that a public consultation is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
