Gardai have been hunting the 39-year-old down for over two years.
He is responsible, according to the Irish Independent, for at least 60 burglaries, with that figure expected to be much higher.
He is understood to have carried out a number of burglaries on homes and businesses, mainly in five Munster counties.
He is now in prison in relation to other charges after being questioned for a number of days.
Last week, Kfm highlighted how gardai from all units of the Clare/Tipperary Crime Functional Area, supported by members from Leixlip Garda Station, the Armed Support Unit and other National Units carried out the search under warrant.
A number of items were seized during the searches, including a high end pick-up truck.
