Issues raised at Public Accounts Committee as calls grow for urgent works to protect students and staff
Appearing before a public accounts committee this afternoon, Kildare North Social Democrats TD Aidan Farrelly raised the on-going safety concerns regarding St. Patrick's Primary School in Celbridge.
Two separate reports completed in 2025 and seen by Kfm News converge on the same stark conclusion about St. Patrick’s Primary School in Celbridge: in its current condition, the building presents a serious and immediate safety concern that extends well beyond routine maintenance issues.

Deputy Farrelly pointed out the need for immediate action required to make the school safe for its teachers and over 360 students.
Secretary General of the Department of Education Bernie McNally advised that budget has previously been approved for a new school build and that has been delegated to the National Development Finance Agency.
