Kildare motorists were fined over €7k last year for parking on footpaths.
Over €7000 in fines were issued last year across Kildare to drivers for parking on a footpath.
The penalty for parking on a footpath is 80 euro, however disability campaigners say the cost isn't stopping offenders.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Bernard Mulvaney, Co-Founder for Access For All, says cars parked on footpaths impact the independence of people with disabilities.
Talking about his own daughter, he said sometimes she leaves the house but has to turn home because she can't get past vehicles parked on the footpath.
