1 in 10 people in ICU are pregnant women
Some students returned to schools this morning, with the majority due back in classrooms next week.
Concerns have been raised about expectant mothers.
1 in 10 people in the country's intensive care units, due to Covid-19 are pregnant women.
There have been high levels of vaccine-hesitancy among pregnant women.
Pregnant women are advised to receive Covid-19 vaccines after the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
Eamon Dennehy, President of the ASTI, spoke to 'Kildare Today' this morning on the return to school.
Mr. Dennehy noted the immense work carried out by schools across the country, to keep classrooms open while the country battled the pandemic.
But also noted the fear of pregnant women returning to the classroom.
