Kildare school's continue to set an example and lead the way in a more sustainable future.
The An Taisce Green-Schools Programme has awarded twenty schools across County Kildare Green Flags for waste reduction, recycling initiatives, biodiversity enhancement, and water and energy conservation.
Schools in Athy, Ballymore Eustace, Carbury, Celbridge, Clane, Kildare Town, Leixlip, Maynooth, Monasterevin, Naas, Prosperous, Rathangan, and Sallins took part in the initiative.
The Green-Schools Programme encourages long-term environmental action by schools.

Schools awarded for water usage and marine activities are Athy College, St Brigids National School, and Maynooth Post Primary School.
Scoil Mhuire N.S., Celbridge Community School, and St Laurence's N.S. were awarded for energy.
For litter and waste work, St Brigids N.S., Clane Community School, Scoil Chearbhail Uí Dhálaigh, Gaelcholáiste Maigh Nuad, St. Paul's Secondary School, Kilashee Multi-Denominational N.S., St. David's N.S., and St. Farnan's P.P.S.
Other green awards were given to North Kildare Educate Together School, Scoil na Mainistreach, Scoil Mhuire, Meanscoil Iognáid Rís, Scoil an Linbh Íosa, and Bunscoil Bhíde.
