He will be remanded in custody until May 1st.
A priest has appeared in court in Derry, charged with alleged attempted sexual communication with a child.
At a sitting of Derry Magistrates' Court in Dungannon today, 58-year-old Edward Gallagher, of Orchard Park, Lifford, was told the charges relate to April 2nd to April 17th 2025.
A defence lawyer said there would be no bail application at this stage - and requested his client be remanded in custody until May 1st while they try to resolve an "issue over addresses" with the police.
The request, and legal aid, were granted.
