Two 14 year olds dies as a result of the Crash
Support services will today be offered to friends and classmates of two Co Galway students who died in a car crash near Headford yesterday morning.
They have been named locally as Lucas Joyce and Kirsty Bohan. Both were aged 14 and attended Presentation College in Headford.
Two of their friends, a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, were injured in the crash and remain in a serious condition at University Hospital Galway.
The four friends were travelling in a car towards the N84, between Galway and Castlebar when the vehicle hit a tree at 5.45am yesterday.
Lucas Joyce was pronounced dead at the scene. Kirsty Bohan died later in hospital.
Detectives investigating the crash have appealed to witnesses, or motorists with dashcam footage that may be of benefit to the inquiry, to contact them.
