Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Fatal Galway Motorcycle Collision

A motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, died after a single-vehicle crash on the N83 between Claregalway and Tuam at Carraghy on Friday night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in County Galway.

A motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, died after a single-vehicle crash on the N83 between Claregalway and Tuam at Carraghy shortly before 11:40pm on Friday.

The road has remained closed.

Commuters are advised to take the M17 motorway to avoid delays.

The motorcyclists body has since been removed to University Hospital Galway for a post-mortem examination, while a forensic collision investigation is underway.

Local diversions are in place and Gardaí are asking anyone who travelled the route between 11pm and 11:40pm, particularly those with dashcam footage, to come forward.
