The Green Party is calling for urgent action to address the shortfall in services and supports for pregnant women and new mothers.
It says as the country recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact it has had on our health services, we need to prioritise women's health and wellbeing
They're calling for two-year extension to the National Breastfeeding Action Plan, supprt for the Milk Bank Scheme and a Commitment to Reproductive Rights-based Healthcare
Senator Pauline O'Reilly leader of the Green party in the Seanad said a key part of the national maternity strategy was midwife care but she said the issue of home births was also critical.
