The man in his 20s was injured shortly before 5am.
A man in his 20s has been hospitalised following an assault in Dublin City in the early hours.
Gardai and paramedics responded to the attack, near Bachelor's Walk, shortly before 5am.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.
No arrests have yet been made.
