The Minister for Agriculture will be announcing details of national support schemes for farmers, hauliers and the transport sector later this week.
Minister and Kildare South TD, Martin Heydon, is today attending the Agrifish Council in Luxembourg.
The support schemes will form part of the Government's package of measures outlined two weeks ago.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of the Agrifish Council in Luxembourg, Minister Heydon says the crisis in the Middle East has highlighted Europe’s vulnerability to changes in the availability and price of fuel and fertiliser:
