Ireland’s international financial services sector already employs around 61,000 people
One in four new jobs in the financial services will be based outside of Dublin.
That's according to new Ireland for Finance strategy, launched by Minister of State at the Department of Finance Robert Troy, aims to increase employment in the sector to 70,000 by 2030.
Ireland’s international financial services sector already employs around 61,000 people across more than 600 firms, up from 35,000 in 2015, and Ireland is now the fourth largest exporter of financial services in the EU.
The strategy contains 31 actions building on this success and strengthening Ireland’s position as an international financial services centre.
Key measures include cutting red tape and simplifying regulation for financial services firms, supporting fintech and start-ups, as well as modernising legislation to encourage investment and support growing areas such as digital assets, and to develope new opportunities in climate and sustainable finance.
