The GAA has confirmed plans to appoint a new National Director of Hurling.

The position is being advertised from today - over three years since former Kilkenny coach Martin Fogarty vacated a similar role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall strategic development of the game and establishing new clubs.

GAA president Jarlath Burns says their new Hurling Development Committee is not just about funding.
