Monday Morning Update - Chelsea Top Of Premier League

Liverpool, United & Chelsea are all on 13 points

Chelsea are top of the Premier League.

Goals by Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger saw them beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 in North London.

 

Cristiano Ronaldo was once again on the scoresheet as Manchester United beat West Ham 2-1.

Jesse Lingard scored a late goal for United, before Mark Noble missed a penalty to salvage a point for West Ham.

Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer felt the three points were warranted.

United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all on the same number of points at the summit of the table.

Elsewhere, Brighton got the better of Leicester City by 2 goals to 1.

 

In the League of Ireland Premier Division, Bohemians host Derry City at Dalymount Park tonight.

It's a 7.45pm kick off.

The Mayo county board has hit out at some of the commentary following the senior footballers' All Ireland defeat to Tyrone.

In a statement, the board say "there have been a number of personal attacks on both players and team management that are completely unnecessary and unacceptable to all involved with Mayo GAA".

Rugby

The Irish women's team defeated Italy by 15 points to 7 in their World Cup qualifier.

They will now play Scotland on Saturday with a place in the tournament in New Zealand up for grabs.

Golf

Niall Kearney ended in a tie for 12th place at the Dutch Open, which was won by Kristoffer Broberg of Sweden.

On the US PGA Tour, Max Homa won the Fortinent Championship in California.

And Olivia Mehaffey ended in a tie for 43rd at the Portland Classic.

Horse Racing

Listowel's jumps festival continues today at 1.40pm.

There's a flat meeting at Fairyhouse which starts at 2.55pm.
