Defending champion Novak Djokovic is into the semi finals of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

The ten time winner beat American Taylor Fritz by 3 sets to 1 - 7-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Djokovic will now face either Jannik Sinner or Andrey Rublev, who meet later.

In the women's singles, fourth seed Coco Gauff booked her place in the semi finals with a three set win over Marta Kostyuk.

Gauff is bidding for her second Grand Slam title in a row.

Second seed Aryna Sabalenka and Barbora Krejcikova have just begun their encounter.
