Kildare host Louth in O’Byrne Cup

The Kildare Senior footballers continue their O’Byrne Cup campaign against Louth in Newbridge this afternoon.

Glenn Ryan’s side will be looking to build on the midweek 1-18 to 11 points win over Wexford in Enniscorthy.

Goal scorer  Paddy Woodgate and  Daragh Kirwan, who scored 6 points are among those who retain their place in the starting 15.

The Game throws in at 2pm at St Conleth’s Park.

KFM will have live coverage of the game with Ger McNally and Peter McConnon, in association with Hanlon Concrete of Robertstown.

 

SOCCER

Manchester United are the first side through to the FA Cup fourth round.

Marcus Rashford scored his fifth goal in as many games - this time from the penalty spot - as Eric Ten Hag’s side beat Everton by 3-goals to 1.

There are three all-Premier League ties among today’s glut of third round action.

The first of those comes this lunchtime at Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace play Southampton.

At 5.30 there’s the London derby meeting of Brentford and West Ham.

Then at 8, an injury-hit Liverpool welcome Wolves to Anfield.

Elsewhere, there are banana peels littered all around for top flight sides today.

Leicester have a lunchtime trip to the team bottom of the entire Football League - Gillingham.

Tottenham play host to League One side, Portsmouth.

Nottingham Forest are away to Blackpool,

Bournemouth entertain Championship leaders Burnley.

Fulham go to Hull City,

Brighton make the trip to Middlesbrough,

And Newcastle are away to Sheffield Wednesday.


RUGBY

A pair of Scott Buckley tries helped Munster to a 33-points to 3 bonus point win over the Emirates Lions to move back up to fifth in the URC last night.

The Vodacom Bulls leapfrogged Ulster to third in the table with a 29-points to 14 bonus point win over the Dragons at Rodney Parade.

 

This evening, Connacht have a must-win game against the Cell C Sharks with kick-off at the Sportsground at 5.15.

Robert Baloucoune earns his 50th Ulster cap in their lunchtime game away to Benetton.

And Harry Byrne makes his first Leinster start since April as they face the Ospreys in Swansea.

 

The Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship gets underway at Energia Park this afternoon with Leinster facing Connacht.

Then Musgrave Park hosts Munster’s meeting with Ulster.

And there is horse racing today at Cork
