It has led to hopes the site can used as a Park
There has been a broad welcome to the news that An Bord Pleanala have overturned planing permission for a 11,000-square foot home adjoining the Liffey Linear park in Newbridge.
The decision comes over 18 months after local residents lodged an objection to grant planning permission for the large dwelling on a four arce site.
Explaining their decision, An Bord Pleanala said the proposed development would result in an inefficient and unsustainable use of serviced lands in close proximity to a town centre.
They also said the plan represents an unacceptably low density and would give rise to increased urban sprawl.
Newbridge Councillor, Rob Power is among those welcoming the ruling.
