Lakeside park residents have said that people within the estate can't get a doctor because services are so tight across the town, and that Newbridge in general doesn't have the amenities to cope with an influx of people.
Tom McDonnell, is from the LHD action group and he attended the meeting,he commented: "We raised all the issues and concerns with him.
"I think he was startled to see what's going on down there [LakesidePark].
"We showed him some footage of flooding and sewerage problems.
"Now he wants the [OPW] to engage directly with Kildare County Council, which should have happened in the first place.
"It's Kildare County Council that know what's going on in that area and they seem to have been overlooked," he said.
