The HSE took interim charge of the nursing home last Friday week
Families of residents are protesting today outside Lucan Lodge Nursing Home today, over it's proposed closure.
Families were informed last week that a liquidation process has commenced because an examinership process had not been successful.
The nursing home, which has approximately 74 residents, many of whom are vulnerable and have dementia, will close within the next three months.
The HSE took interim charge of the nursing home last Friday week.
The families of residents are urging the HSE and Government to act swiftly, to ensure their loved ones won't be displaced.
Monday morning's Kildare Today programme with Eoin Beatty will discuss the issue in more detail.
