The event recognises young people who have positively contributed to their community.
From midday, 25 people aged between 13 and 21 will be awarded in recognition of the meaningful work they do in communities across the country.
They represent Garda Divisions in Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Sligo/Leitrim, Mayo/Roscommon, Longford, Tipperary and Donegal.
The inaugural Divisional Garda Youth Awards was held in 1995 having been brought about by Garda James O’Mahony, a Bandon based Juvenile Liaison Officer.
Garda O'Mahony believed it would be fitting to award the excellence of young volunteers in the local area.
In 2019 then, the National Garda Youth Awards were established by Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris.
A national panel have selected award winners under the categories of individual, group, special achievement, special recognition, and community safety.
