The fixture between themselves and Kilcullen had attracted attention last week
Kildare LGFA has decided to award the u16 division 1 final to Clane following a "long discussion" at an EGM.
The fixture between themselves and Kilcullen had attracted attention last week, after Kildare LGFA stated that it couldn't refix the game even though 10 members of the Kilcullen team were due to travel abroad for a sporting trip on the same weekend.
Clane GAA had also agreed with Kilcullen GAA to move the final from it's original date.
Kildare LGFA had said that the fixtures were "ratified at the May county board meeting and have appeared in a number of fixtures reports since then, adding that "the finals date has always been the 17 of October".
But after last night's (19 October) EGM, Kildare LGFA released this statement on social media:
"Kildare LGFA held a EGM this evening attended by 36 out of our 41 clubs. Following a long discussion the clubs proposed and voted to award the U16 Division 1 Final to Clane LGFA."
