It's due to what it described as "essential improvement works" on the local water network

Uisce Éireann has notified Allenwood and nearby residents of a water supply interruption tomorrow  (20 October).

It's due to what it described as "essential improvement works" on the local water network.

Last week, UÉ said a new pipe had been commissioned for a nearby reservoir, aimed at managing future main burst issues.

Customers may experience water supply disruptions from 9.00am to 6.00pm in Allenwood, Lullymore, Derrinturn, Bluetown and surrounding areas in the county.

UÉ says the works will reduce the risk of future bursts and unplanned outages, and help provide a more reliable water supply for homes, businesses and the wider community.

Supply is expected to be restored from 6.00pm on Tuesday evening, however, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Uisce Éireann also said that national leakage is now at its lowest level ever, reduced from 49 per cent in 2014 to 36 per cent today.
