Many expect to spend at least €1000 this Christmas
Many Kildare shoppers are on the roads this Saturday as the festive rush gears up this weekend.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says almost half of Irish shoppers expect to spend at least €1000 on gifts, food, clothing, drink and decorations this Christmas.
A high volume of traffic could lead delays around the major shopping areas through out the county.
Those travelling to Dublin should see extra Gardaí patrolling the streets in an effort to reassure the public following the recent riots.
CEO of Dublin Town, Richard Guiney, says the Garda presence will be maintained during and after Christmas.
