3.5% Increase In People Accessing Emergency Accommodation.
There has been a 3.5% increase in the number of people accessing emergency accommodation across Ireland.
Figures for March from the Department of Housing show there were 9,825, up from 9,492 in February.
The total includes more than 2,800 children.
The figures for Kildare show there were 160 homeless adults on the week of 21st to 27th March.
While there were 71 families accessing emergency accommodation in the Mid East region, which covers Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.
The official total from the Government does not include rough sleepers, women in refuge centres, or Ukrainian refugees in pledged accommodation.
