There are 6 fire stations in Kildare
Retained fire fighters in Kildare and around the country have voted to accept proposals from the Workplace Relations Commission to resolve their industrial dispute.
Among the recommendations are new pay scales, as well as addressing annual leave and minimum staffing levels.
SIPTU has welcomed the news, but warns that while today's vote ends the current strike, it doesn't end that battle.
Brendan O'Brien, SIPTU Sector Organiser, says the ball now falls in the court of the local authorities.
There are 6 fire stations in Kildare - Newbridge, Naas, Leixlip, Maynooth, Monasterevin and Athy and virtually all firefighters at these stations are on a retainer.
