He is being treated at Beaumont Hospital.

A cyclist is in a critical condition in Dublin after being hit by a car.

It happened at around 9pm last night on Sheriff Street Upper, when a man in his early 20s was stuck.

An ambulance took him to Beaumont hospital.

The car failed to stop at the scene, however a vehicle matching its description was found abandoned a short distance away on Guild Street, and has been removed for forensic examinations.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Gardaí in Store Street.
