The report also found that 45% of those surveyed said they'd been victims of crime.
One third of Travellers say they've no trust in Gardaí, according to a new report.
The study carried out by the University of Limerick, heard from one in every 100 Travellers in the country.
The report which looked at Irish Travellers' view of the criminal justice system also found 91% feel disrespected by Gardai.
Accounts were given of how many felt they've been racially profiled by members of Gardaí, and have felt like 'the lowest of the low'.
Some 45% of those surveyed said they'd been victims of crime, and one fifth were arrested within the 18 month period the survey was carried out.
While a third of people who a reported a crime to Gardaí, but the majority felt their case wasn't taken seriously.
An independent investigation into Garda failures to respond to crimes against Travellers, was included within the report's recommendations.
