Gardaí have charged a man in connection with Monday's stabbing in Dublin city centre.

The man is due in court this morning.

Qayyum Balogun was found on Clarendon Street at around 3am on Monday morning after first being attacked nearby Grafton Street following a gig.

The 21-year-old student was taken to St James's Hospital with stab wounds but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man and a woman were arrested in the days that followed.

The woman was later released without charge.

Now Gardaí have charged a man in his 20s in connection with the case.

He's due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
