The final event took place in The Academy last night.
Tyrone native and Galway-based singer/songwriter Brad Heidi has been crowned the winner of the 'A New Local Hero Competition' in association with Hot Press, the BAI and IBI.
Out of the hugely talented 25 regional finalists, Brad Heidi, Darian June, Negro Impacto, Temi, Paddy Keyes, and Eva Campbell were chosen to perform at the live finale showcase event at The Academy in Dublin last night.
Following a fantastic night of performances, Brad Heidi was eventually crowned the winner and will now receive a substantial bursary, as well as having his song played on radio stations up and down the country.
Out of the 19 artists who didn't make the final six: this year's edition of 'A New Local Hero' also included a special new element – with all 25 regional finalists (Including Kfm's Gemma Cox) being in with a chance to be crowned the winner of the Wild Card Award voted by the public.
The Wild Card winner was Laura Jo and will be awarded a €2,500 bursary.
