A travel expert says the drop in American tourists visiting Ireland is a cause for concern.
It comes as the CSO reports the number of foreign visitors to the country in February dropped by 30 per cent compared to the same time last year.
Nearly half of all visitors came from the UK, with America coming in second making up a tenth of the tourists.
Eoghan Corry, Travel and Aviation Journalist at TravelExtra.ie, says American visitors have helped shape tourism here over the years.
