Kfm has been provided a statement by Gardaí on the alleged incidents
Gardaí are investigating the alleged abduction attempts of two separate women on two different occasions in Co. Laois.
Laois Gardaí have confirmed that they are actively investigating two incidents involving suspicious approaches to women in the area of Mountmellick in Co. Laois.
The initial incident occurred on Friday evening, April 26 in Mountmellick.
A second related incident, also in Moutmellick, took place at the weekend on Saturday May 11.
In a statement provided to Kfm, Gardaí have confirmed a man in his 40s has since been arrested in relation to the incident on April 26, and that a man in his 40s had been released from custody in relation to the incident on May 11.
It has not yet been confirmed if it was the same man in both incidents.
Gardaí expressed their gratitude to the community members in Laois for their vigilance and assistance in the matter.
They said further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
