Gardaí Seize 38 E-Scooters And E-Bikes In Dublin Crackdown

The operation targeted the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes as Gardaí warned they are being used to facilitate criminal activity.

Gardai say they are 'doing what they can' to prevent people using e-scooters for criminal activity.

They seized 38 e-scooters and e-bikes this morning, as part of a high impact day of action targeting the illegal use of them, and other criminal activity in the Dublin Metropolitan Area.

At the end of August, it will be illegal for someone under 18 to use an e-scooter, while helmets and high-visibility clothing will be mandatory for users.

Detective Superintendent Jason Miley says operations like today's will help prevent dangerous use of the vehicles:
