Government To Decide If Temporary Fuel Reductions Will Remain In Place

The Government will decide within the next two weeks whether temporary reductions in petrol and diesel excise duties should remain in place.

The cuts were introduced after energy prices surged during the conflict in the Middle East.

But oil prices have fallen after the announcement of a peace deal in the war in Iran.

The excise reductions are due to expire at the end of July, and Tánaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris says a decision will be made soon.

Brent crude dropped almost 5% following the announcement of a peace deal between the United States and Iran.
