Housing Minister Says New Affordable Rent Scheme Will Be In Place By Year's End.

The housing minister says Ireland’s new affordable rent scheme will be in place by the end of the year.

It comes as housing charities plan to deliver hundreds of homes under the new model.

Paul O’Donoghue reports.

And the Tánaiste has welcomed a review of mortgage lending rules suggesting changes may increase the supply of houses.

The Central Bank will carry out a review of the restrictions that limit borrowing to 3.5 times your salary.

The measures were brought in after the financial crash.
