The Heath Service Executive said that as of this morning there were ten patients in ICU with Covid-19, compared to three patients on 1 July.
A member of the Oireachtas Health Committee says hospitals will need to act, in order to cope with a spike, but said people still have a personal responsibility to avoid spreading the virus.
Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway says hospitals need to be be supported during this time.
